John C. Escorta was born in Puerto Rico in 1873. He was working as a messman aboard the Panamanian steamship "SS COLON". He died on May 21, 1916 at the Ancon Hospital. He was buried in Section A, Old Corozal Cemetery then reinterred in Corozal American Cemetery in 1979.
