Lieutenant Eskridge was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
Notes
Lieutenant Eskridge was a veteran of World War II. During the Korean War, he was a pilot of a fighter aircraft aboard the carrier USS TARAWA (CV-40) engaged in a joint training exercise with the Turkish navy off Istanbul. On April 17, 1952, as he was landing on the ship's deck, the left wheel locked causing the aircraft to plunge overboard. His remains were not recovered.
