Notes
Captain Fantle was a member of the 357th Tactical Fighter Squadron, Takhli, Thailand. On January 5, 1968, he was the co-pilot of a Thunderchief Fighter (F-105F) on a mission over Hanoi, North Vietnam. At a point about 35 miles northeast of Hanoi, near Kep Airfield, his aircraft was struck in the left wing by a MiG-17, forcing him to eject safely, but contact was quickly lost. His remains were recovered on September 30, 1977 and identified on October 25, 1977. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
