Fireman (E2) Fisher was a veteran of World War II. In Korea, he served aboard the destroyer USS BRUSH (DD-745) in Korean waters. He was fatally burned when his ship struck an enemy mine near Tanchon, North Korea on September 26, 1950, taken to the 118th Station Hospital where he died on October 2, 1950.
