Notes
Captain Foster was the pilot of a F4U-4B Corsair fighter with Marine Fighter Squadron 212, Marine Air Group 12, 1st Marine Air Wing. On June 21, 1952, while on a low-level bomb run, his aircraft was damaged by its own bomb blast, crashed and burst into flames in shallow water. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
