Notes
Private First Class Garcia was a member of Company I, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division. On September 5, 1952, he was a member of an "Outpost Bruce" a mile forward of the main line of defense. When his unit came under severe attack, although wounded, he went to a supply point to get additional hand grenades. Upon returning, an enemy grenade fell among his comrades. He immediately fell upon it to protect his comrades. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
