Ronald Everett Gometz was born in Fort Worth, Texas on April 12, 1928. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on March 21, 1945 and was promoted to Chief Hospital Corpsman. He served during World War II and Korea. His awards include American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Korean Service medal with 2 Stars, and the Bronze Star Medal. His last assignment was aboard the submarine USS REQUIN (SS-481). He died at David, Chiriqui on November 22, 2012 and was buried at the Corozal American Cemetery.
