Captain Green was a member of the 469th Tactical Fighter Squadron. On November 16, 1965, he was the pilot of a Thunderchief Fighter (F-105D) on a combat mission over North Vietnam, when his aircraft crashed. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
