Private First Class Green was a rifleman with Company D, 1st Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. On June 18, 1970, he was on a protective reaction mission near Sre Khtum, Mondol Kiri Province, Cambodia. He came under heavy fire and was killed. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
