For his leadership and valor, Private First Class Gzik was awarded the Navy Cross, the Purple Heart, the Combat Action Ribbon, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
Notes

Private First Class Gzik was a member of Battery M, 4th Battalion, 11th Marines, 1st Marine Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on December 2, 1950. PFC Gzik's name is permanently inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. PFC Gzik's remains were recovered and identified.
