Notes
Corporal Hammond was a member of Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, 34th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division. He was taken Prisoner of War while defending Taejon, South Korea on July 19, 1950, forced to march to North Korea on the "Tiger Death March", and was executed by a North Korean security guard during the march near Manpo, North Korea on November 2, 1950. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
