Captain Harvey was a member of the 421st Tactical Fighter Squadron, Udorn Airfield, Thailand. On November 28, 1972, he was the pilot of a McDonnell Douglas Phantom II Fighter (F-4D) on an administrative flight to Danang, South Vietnam. When the aircraft was about 18 miles from Danang, it disappeared from the radar screen. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
