Notes
Second Lieutenant Hays was a member of Company G, 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded by the enemy in Korea on August 9, 1952 and returned to duty on September 14, 1952. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on September 22, 1952. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
