Chief Warrant Officer, Third Class Holguin was a member of the 61st Aviation Company, 268th Aviation Battalion, 17th Aviation Group, 1st Aviation Brigade. On January 3, 1971, he was a passenger in a DeHavilland Beaver Utility Aircraft (U-6A) on an administration flight from Qui Nhon to Ban Me Thuot, South Vietnam. Radio contact was lost when the aircraft was about 14 miles southeast of Phu Cat. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
