Private First Class Jones was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Prisoner of War Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
Notes
Private First Class Jones was a member of Company B, 1st Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. He was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy near Unsan, North Korea on November 2, 1950 and died while a prisoner on February 28, 1951. PFC Jones' remains have been recovered and identified in 2015. His name is permanently inscribed on the Tablets of the Missing at Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
