Initially listed as missing in action, the remains of Sergeant Kindervatter were recovered in 1935 and identified in 1936; then permanently interred at the Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery. His name is permanently inscribed on the Tablets of the Missing at the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery and Memorial.
