Private First Class King was a member of the Weapons Company, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division. He was Killed in Action while engaged with the enemy at the Chosin Reservoir, North Korea on December 4, 1950. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
