Lieutenant Colonel Klinck was a member of the 469th Tactical Fighter Squadron. On November 19, 1967, he was the pilot of a Thunderchief Fighter (F-105D) on a mission near Ha Tay 5 miles south of Son Tay, North Vietnam, when his aircraft crashed. His remains were recovered on August 14, 1985 and identified on October 7, 1985. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
