Specialist, Fourth Class Lomax was a rifleman with Company A, 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, 199th Infantry Brigade. On March 26, 1968, he was on a search and destroy mission and was sent to place demolition charges on an enemy bunker, but there was a large explosion killing him. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
