Notes

In August 2005, the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency exhumed the remains of an Unknown Soldier buried in Plot C Row 7 Grave 58 at Ardennes American Cemetery with the belief that an identification could be made. DNA analysis and historical evidence were used to positively identify the remains as belonging to 2nd Lt. John F. Lubben, who served with the 644th Bomber Squadron, 410th Bomber Group, Light and lost his life on December 13, 1945. He is now interred at Forest Hill Cemetery in Wisconsin, but his name is permanently inscribed on the Tablets of the Missing at Luxembourg American Cemetery.
