Staff Sergeant Manor was a member of the 40th Air Rescue and Recovery Squadron, Nakhon Phanom Airfield, Thailand. On March 27, 1972, he was a member of the para-rescue team of a Sikorsky Sea Stallion Search and Rescue Helicopter (HH-53C) on a search and rescue mission near Siempang, Stoeng Treng Province, Cambodia, when the aircraft crashed. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
