Lieutenant Commander Marble was a veteran of World War II. During the Korean War, he was stationed at the Alameda Naval Air Station, Alameda, California as the Communications Officer of Fleet Air Wing 6. On December 6, 1952, he was killed when his apartment on base caught on fire.
