Notes
Captain Meroney was a member of the 433rd Tactical Fighter Squadron. On March 1, 1969, he was the bombardier/navigator of a McDonnell Douglas Phantom II Fighter (F-4D) on a combat mission near Ban Karai Pass, Laos, where his aircraft was hit by hostile fire and crashed. His name is permanently inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. CAPT Meroney's remains have been recovered and identified.
