Hospital Corpsman Third Class Miller was assigned to Headquarters and Service Company, 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Marine Division. On May 10, 1967, he was assigned to a reconnaissance patrol from Company A just south of the Demilitarized Zone. He was killed while tending his wounded comrades. His remains were recovered on May 27, 2003 and identified on November 22, 2004. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
