First Lieutenant Miller was the pilot of a F-84G Thunderjet fighter with the 429th Fighter-Bomber Squadron, 474th Fighter-Bomber Group. On April 25, 1953, while on a combat mission, his aircraft was last seen making a bomb run on a target. He was listed as Missing in Action and was presumed dead on April 26, 1954. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
