Specialist, Fourth Class Miller was a member of 490th Supply Company at Da Nang, South Vietnam. On September 13, 1970, he was surfing in the South China Sea about 8 miles south of Da Nang, Quang Nam Province, South Vietnam. He fell off his surfboard and drowned. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
