Captain Moore was a pilot of a F-51D Mustang night fighter with the 67th Fighter Bomber Squadron, 18th Fighter Bomber Group. He was listed as Missing in Action while participating in aerial support over the South China Sea near the coast of North Korea on June 1, 1951. He was presumed dead on December 31, 1953. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
