Major Morgan was a member of the 606th Air Commando Squadron, Nakhon Phanom Royal Thai Airfield, Thailand. On August 22, 1967, he was the navigator of a Douglas Counter Invader Attack Aircraft (A-26A) over the Plain of Jars, Laos. Radio contact was lost and his aircraft crashed. His remains were recovered on February 17, 2005 and identified on October 31, 2005. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
