Colonel Morrison was a member of the 555th Tactical Fighter Squadron. On November 25, 1968, he was the pilot of a McDonnell Douglas Phantom II Fighter (F-4D) on a mission over North Vietnam, when his aircraft was shot down by hostile fire. He parachuted safely to the ground but could not be located. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
