Master Sergeant Muniz was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico on August 21, 1930. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and rose to the grade of Master Sergeant participating during the Korean War. After retirement from the service he returned to the United States. He died on May 26, 2012 at St. Luke Episcopal Hospital in Harris, Texas, was cremated and buried at the Corozal American Cemetery.
