Charles A. Nylen was a native of Sweden. He came to the United States as a boy and worked as a steam shovel operator for twenty-two years. He became a naturalized citizen. He married Lucy Horner and moved to the Isthmus of Panama in May, 1908, He died on August 10, 1913, was buried at the Mt. Hope Cemetery then reinterred at the Corozal American Cemetery in 1979.
