Notes
First Lieutenant Nystrom was a member of the 8202nd Army Unit, Korean Military Assistance Group (KMAG) as artillery advisor to the 3rd Republic of Korea Infantry Division. On May 18, 1951, his unit was ambushed along the Naeron-chen River near Hyon-ni, South Korea and he was taken Prisoner of War. He was presumed dead on February 16, 1954. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
