Captain Ochab was a member of the 390th Tactical Fighter Squadron, Danang Air Base, South Vietnam. On January 7, 1970, he was the bombardier/navigator of a McDonnell Douglas Phantom II Fighter (F-4E) over Quang Nam Province, South Vietnam, when his aircraft crashed. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
