For his leadership and valor, Corporal Orlandi was awarded the Silver Star, the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

Corporal Orlandi was a member of Company L, 3rd Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was awarded for gallantry in action near Kachil-bong, North Korea on September 2, 1951. He was seriously wounded by the enemy in Korea on September 3, 1951 and returned to duty on October 11, 1951. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy near Tongmang-ni and Polmukkae, North Korea on January 12, 1952. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
