Second Lieutenant Parker was a member of the Marine Attack Fighter Squadron 314, Marine Attack Group 13, 1st Marine Air Wing. On March 18, 1967, he was the radar intercept officer of a McDonnell Douglas Phantom II Fighter (F-4B) on a close air support mission in Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam. Contact with the aircraft was lost. His remains were recovered on June 9, 1993 and identified on May 9, 2001. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
