Private First Class Parks was a member of Company C, 1st Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. On October 14, 1952, he was Killed in Action while attacking "Jane Russell Hill" near Kumhwa, North Korea, the right leg of the "Iron Triangle." His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
