Notes
Sergeant Pendell was a rifleman in Company B, 1st Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded by a gunshot to his head while defending his position near Somin-Dong, North Korea as the Chinese were overrunning his position. He was last seen being evacuated to an aid station on November 26, 1950. He was presumed dead on December 31, 1953. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
