Lieutenant Junior Grade Roehrich, U.S. Naval Reserve, was a member of Fighter Squadron 114, Carrier Air Wing 11 aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS KITTY HAWK (CVA-63). On January 18, 1968, he was the radar interdiction officer of a McDonnell Douglas Phantom II Fighter (F-4B) on a barrier combat air patrol around friendly surface vessels. Contact with his aircraft was lost. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
