Airman Third Class Rose was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
Notes
Airman Third Class Rose was a member of the 3rd Installation Squadron, 3rd Air Base Group. On October 23, 1952, a F-84G Thunderjet fighter from the 429th Fighter-Bomber Squadron, 474th Fighter-Bomber Group caught fire on takeoff from Kunsan Air Base (K-8), and the pilot ejected. While Airman Rose was trying to extinguish the fire, the Ordnance exploded. He was evacuated to the 3rd Medical Facility at Kunsan Air Base where he died.
