Sergeant Schick was a member of the 3rd Platoon, Company H, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division. He was Killed in Action while defending his position at Outpost "Hedy" (also known as "Yellow") in South Korea on March 21, 1953. He was presumed dead on March 22, 1954. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
