Private Schwindeman was born on September 30, 1882 at Jersey City, New Jersey. He served as a Private in the U.S. Army during World War I and was working for the Panama Canal Company. After retirement he remained in Panama. He died on August 28, 1940 at the Gorgas Army Hospital. He was buried at the Mt. Hope Cemetery then re-interred at the Corozal American Cemetery in 1979.
