Notes
Specialist, Fourth Class Shimerk was a member of Company A, 5th Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. On December 9, 1968, he was engaged with a superior force in Binh Long Province, South Vietnam, when a grenade hit him causing the M79 rounds he was carrying to explode. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
