Corporal Spencer was a member of the 15th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded by the enemy in South Korea on February 3, 1951 and returned to duty on February 20, 1951. He was seriously wounded again on March 24, 1951 and died of those wounds on March 27, 1951.
