Notes
Second Lieutenant Stauffer was the pilot of a F-86E Sabre Jet fighter bomber with the 336th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron, 4th Fighter-Interceptor Group. On January 26, 1953, while on a combat mission, his flight of four F-86s was attacked by six MiGs. His aircraft crashed inverted. He was listed as Missing in Action and was presumed dead on January 27, 1954. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
