Hospital Corpsman Third Class Strohmeyer was a Naval medic serving with the 1st Marine Division. He was listed as Missing in Action while tending his wounded comrades in Korea early in the war. He was presumed dead on August 31, 1954. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
