Notes
First Lieutenant Swanson was the pilot of a F-51 Mustang night fighter with the 12th Fighter Bomber Squadron, 18th Fighter Bomber Wing. On December 13, 1951, while on a close support mission, his aircraft dove into the ground and exploded 35 miles northwest of Seoul (North of Samdung, South Korea). His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
