Sergeant Taylor was a member of Detachment A-503, 5th Special Forces Group. On March 10, 1966, he was at Camp A Shau, South Vietnam when it came under attack. Sergeant Taylor was mortally wounded. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
