Maria C. Torbert was born in Carracas, Venezuela on October 30, 1897. She immigrated to the United States in 1907. She married William Alphonzo Torbert in about 1916. She moved to Panama to be with her husband. She died at the Gorgas Hospital on September 21, 1968 and was buried at the Corozal American Cemetery near her husband, William.
