Machinist's Mate Second Class Tritt was a crew member of the Aircraft Carrier USS BON HOMME RICHARD (CVA-31). On July 7, 1967, he fell overboard into the Gulf of Tonkin from the the USS BON HOMME RICHARD and drowned, His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
