Notes

Major Vizina was serving as an air-ground controller for Company K, 3rd Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. On November 14, 1951, while flying in a AT-6D Mosquito observation aircraft, it was hit by machinegun fire, crashed and burned behind enemy lines. He was listed as Missing in Action and was presumed dead on December 31, 1953. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
